Performance tested in real conditions

Arc’teryx

The Challenge

Arc’teryx was looking to showcase a complete technical outfit system, from hiking footwear to base layers and outer shell, within a single cohesive campaign.

The challenge was to communicate the performance and integration of each piece without isolating them as individual products, while shooting outdoors in December in inclement conditions where strong winds and rain put the gear through its paces. The visuals needed to demonstrate how the system works together in real-world environments, highlighting versatility, durability, and thoughtful design.

At the same time, the campaign had to stay true to Arc’teryx’s brand identity, balancing technical precision with a clean, elevated aesthetic that resonates with both core outdoor users and a broader audience.

The Solution

Alpenglow Media developed a visual approach that focused on the relationship between the individual pieces and the environment they are designed for.

Rather than presenting each product separately, the campaign was built around movement and progression through terrain, showing how the full outfit performs as a system. The goal was to create a sense of continuity, where each layer and component naturally contributes to the overall experience.

Production combined controlled product-focused compositions with lifestyle-driven moments in the field. This allowed us to highlight key product details while maintaining a grounded, authentic feel that reflects how the gear is actually used.

Deliverables

A short, dynamic campaign video designed for web and social media

A set of product and lifestyle photography showcasing the full outfit system

A library of supporting visuals for ongoing digital use

Our Process

1. Discovery & Planning

We worked with the Arc’teryx team to align on the intent of the campaign and how each product contributes to the overall system. From there, we identified key moments to highlight performance across layers and mapped out locations and sequences to ensure everything felt seamless and intentional across both video and photography.

2. Production

Filming took place outdoors in real conditions that reflected the intended use of the gear. We focused on capturing movement through terrain, allowing the interaction between the gear and environment to lead the visuals. Video and photography were captured together to maintain a consistent look and feel across all assets.

3. Post-Production

The video was edited into a short, dynamic piece tailored for web and social platforms. Sound, pacing, and color were refined to maintain a clean, technical tone, while the photography was processed to align with the same visual direction.

The Outcomes

The campaign delivered a cohesive set of visuals that positioned Arc’teryx’s apparel and footwear as an integrated system rather than standalone products.

The combination of dynamic video and considered photography allowed the brand to communicate both performance and design in a way that felt authentic and elevated. The content provided flexibility across web, social, and campaign applications, supporting both product storytelling and broader brand positioning.

By focusing on how the full outfit performs in real conditions, the work reinforced Arc’teryx’s reputation for technical excellence while making the gear feel accessible, functional, and built for movement.
